Main Engineering

Jessica enjoined the short visti to sickbay and meeting Doctor Ramvek. She was glad to make a friend.
The work in Engineering has drained her energy and was quite tiered and exhausted, regardless of how she felt she decided to grab some food her shift has ended. She made her to deck 199.

Jessica exited the lift and was overwhelmed by how many shops and restaurants she saw. She heard of a restaurant that serves freshly cooked food. She couldn't quite remember whether it was "Cats or The Cats". She knew that it got raided and destroyed but it had reopened. It took her a while to find it. Then in the distance in an area called the shadow way, she found it. She entered the premises and looked for an empty seat found one and sat down.

Kitten seeing someone enter and took a seat picked up a menu and walked over to where the young woman was seated and handed her the menu "Welcome to the Cats, I'm Kitten the owner, can I offer you something to drink?"

"Hello Kitten, yes, please. Do you serve fizzy drinks? I read about it in the earth historical database its called 'Mezzo Mix' its a mix of 'Cola root juice' and 'Fanta' made out of orange juice and add bubbly water to it. I had the computer replicate it but something was odd. If not I'll have a glass of Orange Juice." Jessica replied.

Kitten smiled "I think I can manage that, I'll be right back," she walked over to the counter and made the drink, picked up a coaster and walked back over to the table and set the drink on the coaster and handed him a straw "There you are,"


"Thank you" she replied then took a sip "Oh wow this tastes so good" Jessica smiled while tasting "It tastes better than what I have replicated myself". She had the menu open in front of her. " Hmm.. I quite can't decide they all sound quite delicious. What would you recommend?" asking Kitten herself.

"There is a cheeseburger with sweet and sour sauce on it, mustard, ketchup, pickle and a pineapple slice on it served on a bed of lettuce and sweet potato fries," Kitten suggested


"Yes please, I would like to try it." Jessica replied

"I'll be right back with it," Kitten said as she headed for the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with her order and set it on the table. "Fresh off the grill, I hope you like it."


"Wow your are fast" she said. She picked up the burger from her plate and took a bite. The burger was so tasty, the flavors and seasonings, it was like that her taste buds were playing a musical. "kitten this taste so wonderful. Were did you learn to cook like that?" Jessica said.

"My mother taught me. My boyfriend did as well," Kitten said "This burger is my boyfriends idea. So far it's a big hit."

Jessica listened while taking another bite, swallowed it then responded "well you mother and your boyfriend did great job. How did you end up in this little corner of the universe?" She asked offering kitten to sit." i hope i won't keep you from your guest all to long." She smiled.

Kitten took a seat "After my parents were killed Digger, that's my boyfriend, his family took me in and we decided we wanted to be on our own and we both wanted a restaurant that served fresh food. With this base being new we decided to give it a shot and here we are," Kitten said

"Oh, that's quite an undertaking. I love what you accomplished here on the station even. I am glad you are here. You and your boyfriend have done a marvelous job. I like the idea of fresh food being prepared and served." Jessica said taking a sip of her drink and another bite.
" You can be proud of yourself. I heard of what happened with the first one but I am glad you stayed." she said

"Had it not been for Billi I'd not be here. I wasn't treated very well when I was summoned to the command deck after things were destroyed. Someone yelled never knew who that was, then I was told about the one that had been opened with only replicated food, then I was escorted out of the meeting under armed security. I vowed that day that I'd never set foot on the command deck again," Kitten said "Neither my boyfriend or I ever wanted to serve replicated food. I have nearly four tons of meat in storage and probably close to a thousand animals in status that will be used for food and breeding once we decide where to raise them at. We talked about a house on the planet but that will mean talking to the base CO and since the treatment I got I'll not attempt that."
