Space Dock 1

The newly painted freshly commissioned USS Nova 2 ported where the USS Bohr once did. Having met the Captain's criteria it now awaited its crew.

Arriving at the USS Nova 2’s dock Shauna stood looking at the new ship through the view port, it seemed silly to miss seeing the USS Bohr docked there.

“Strange isn’t it?” Ellie smiled as she walked up alongside Shauna. “I’ll admit I didn’t get to travel aboard the USS Bohr very often.

Shauna smiled as she turned to look at Ellie. “I’m sure we’ll get used to our new ship. Guess we’ll have to work out any kinks to start with!”

" What do you think of the Nova 2 ladies" Captain Rivers asked as he joined them . " I pulled this baby out of the fleet yard myself."

Walking past was Lt Bob Covenant saying something as he passed. "We have to get this thing moving. The shake down started an hour ago."

“We’ll get moving when we get moving Lieutenant” Shauna offered Covenant a ‘be patient’ look. “The Nova looks good to me, it’s just a shame she’s not got a better name. I think USS Bohr A would sound so much better.”

Ellie nodded in agreement. “I agree Commander.”

Deke chuckled as he followed Covenant through the airlock and onto the Nova 2.

“Can’t say I’ve ever been onboard a Nova class ship before” Shauna smiled as she headed for the airlock alongside Emily.

“That makes two of us then Commander...or should I say four of us!” Ellie grinned as she motioned to her modest pregnancy bump.

" Folks there is a briefing at 0900 in the morning then we prep the ship for launch. I suggest you prep yourself on your positions and this ship." Deke added.

“Aye Sir” Ellie nodded, she was quite looking forward to being out onboard the Nova 2.

Deke ran to the turnbo lift and headed straight for engineering. Lt Nora Ejo was hopefully there and the Captain needed to speak to her.

Nora got on board as soon as the Nova has docked. She was eager to get to know her new work area. It was the first time of being on board a NOVA class vessel. Ens. Pack was also here and getting familiar with his new surroundings.

As the both we’re getting familiar with the Main Engineering they noticed that doors to engineering opened and Captain Rivers entered. Nora paused in what she was doing and approached the Captain “Welcome back, Sir. Glad to have you back. How can I help? Nora asked.

" Thank you Nora. She is a beauty with a lot of fire power. I didn't ask for her for that reason alone but we have to have some protection out here. The Nova 2 is in the class of a Borg defense ship and is going to take a good engineer. Are you up for the job Lieutenant Commander?" Rivers replied.

Nora looking first puzzled but then responded. “Ehmmm… Yes, I am up for the tasked,Sir.” Then thought“Wait he address me as Lieutenant Commander that isn’t correct maybe he got it mixed.”

“Respectfully I am only a Lieutenant, Sir.” Nora added.

" Nope no Chief Engineer of mine holds a rank of less than Lieutenant Commander Nora. Congratulations, you've earned this promotion. " Captain Rivers replied.

“I am honoured and very blessed thank you, Sir” Nora said thankfully.

" You have proven yourself Nora. I will be on the bridge so let me know when you are ready to take her out. " Deke replied.

Heading to the bridge with Ellie, Shauna couldn’t help but smile as they stepped out of the turbolift. “Well this is nice, there’s just something about a new ship!”

" This Ops board is state of the art." Lt Covenant stated. " This thing could engage a Borg ship if necessicary."

" Let us hope not Lieutenant. Commander Callaghan I am a nurse down. Nurse Cotes went into labor on the station. Medical is only running with three nurses and the EMH." Dr Yama Ito stated as he entered the bridge to complain.

Shauna turned to look at Ito. “Unless we run into unexpected chaos three nurses, an EMH and yourself sounds like plenty for a shakedown cruise Doctor.”

" But they are not Cotes." Ito replied as he exited the bridge.
